I3C REDCap Workshop
The I3C REDCap workshop offered participants a hands-on introduction to one of the most widely used platforms in clinical and research data management. Attendees worked directly with the system, gaining practical exposure to its tools and workflows under the guidance of experienced facilitators. The session set a strong foundation for the technical discussions that followed throughout the conference.

The Research Electronic Data Capture (REDCap) is a secure, web-based application designed to support data capture for research studies, providing:
an intuitive interface for validated data entry;
audit trails for tracking data manipulation and export procedures;
automated export procedures for seamless data downloads to common statistical packages; and

The REDCap Users Consortium (RUC) develops and implements informatics tools with the end-goal of managing and stewarding research data through the use of REDCap. It extends the use of the tools to its members, partners and their collaborators.
The members of the RUC in the Philippines are the Center for Informatics (CFI), University of the Philippines College of Veterinary Medicine, and University of the Philippines Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

COVID-19 Disease Burden Projection vs Hospital Capacity
We used two methods to model the disease burden against healthcare capacity in the region (Panay + Guimaras) as well as in the province (Iloilo). Release from a 30-day quarantine may cause a surge in Covid-19 infections which will quickly overwhelm our healthcare capacity. Additional actions and preparations are recommended to augment our effective healthcare capacity in terms of hospital beds and available healthcare workers, alongside enhanced testing, contact tracing, monitoring etc.

A Recommendation for COVID-19 Testing in Low Resource Countries
Sample pooling is a method that originated in the 1940s, and used frequently in research. It has been used in other countries to screen their blood supply for HIV, hepatitis and other pathogens. It's application to Covid-19 testing can help alleviate our scarcity of testing reagents and skilled manpower.

COVID-19 Outbreak and Response
The University of San Agustin Iloilo Office of Research and Global Relations, the Center for Informatics and the Department of Biology hosted a lecture on COVID-19 by Dr. Mario Antonio L. Jiz II last March 13, 2020. Dr. Jiz highlighted updates on disease epidemiology, surveillance, and diagnosis and discussed preventive measures to help curb the spread of the virus.
